My observations from RAM clinic, Sacramento
Here is some observation from the trip of RAM in Sacramento on 4/2/2011 and 4/3/2011.

Frontline Registration
- They have a local intranet to do frontline registration. The system is able to report live number of patients for dental, medical, and vision. The acupuncture is not in the system yet.
- The label-printing (Dyno?) is very convenient, although it take several key storkes to make the labels printed.
- The system is gathering information like, name, date of birth (for calculating age), address, city, county (might not be necessary), employment status, phone, emergency contact, source of drinking water, annual income.
- The system has two-step registration. The first step is to entery name and birthday. This is used to compare the data stored in the system whether it has duplicates. If there is no duplicate, the system will go to step 2 to add the rest of infomration. Once the system finds a duplicate, it will bring back the old data and instruct the operator to enter addtional process.

Station
- Need written instructions so that people can follow.
- The checkou/checkin of headlight should be computerized.
- Scanners can be used to scan the badge.
-
Dental
- Representatives need to be using more magic words.
- Be courtesy to patients according to American culture. For example, we shouldn't ask patient whether you need a translator.
- Vacuum cleaners should be prepared rather than using brooms.
