Introduction

We have a tour of Cupertino Room at Quinlan Center on 1/14/2011. The tour is mainly to get familiar with the AV equipment and kitchen facility to be prepared for the 1/30 Tzu Chi event.

Audio/Video Equipment

The Cupertino Room has profession-grade of AV equipment. All DVD player, CD player, mixer, pre-amp, and power-amp are located on a rack at the left-side of the stage. Surrounding the main rack, there are various control panels and cables. Please see the following photo for illustration.

• VGA/audio cable: there are two independent VGA/audio cables that can be connected to computers.
• 
• Projector control: the projector on/off switch is located at the right-hand side of the rack. While turning on/off the projector, please allow time for the light bulb to be on and off. The same projector panel also controls the video source to the projector. Basically, the video source can be either from the DVD player on the rack or the computer VGA source.
• 
• Projector screen up/down control: this up/down control is located at the left-hand side of the rack.
• Shutter control: this controls the three shutters of the upper windows in the Cupertino Room. While the projector is on, three main shutters can be closed to keep the minimum sunlight into the room. The photo below shows one of the shutter over the middle of the room.

• Spot-light control: there are four spot lights on the stage which can be controlled by the switches located at left-hand side of the rack.

About the main rack

There is a key controlling the main power of the rack. Please only use the key to turn on/off of all equipment on the rack. Please do NOT turn off individual equipment, like power amplifiers, DVD players.

There is a mixer and master volume control located above the CD player. The mixer can control the volume of various input sources. The volume controls are wireless MIC 1, wireless MIC 2, wired MIC 3, and wired MIC 4, located from left to right of the mixer. The master volume control is at the far right side of the mixer.

The connectors to the two wired microphones are located at the left corner of the stage.

Kitchen

It is a fully-equipped kitchen that has stoves, ovens, warmer, ice machine, refrigerator, freezer, sinks, coffee machine and dish washer.

Trash and Recycle Bins

The bins are located outside the kitchen. All recyclable items, like cardboard,  plastics, and cans are categorized into different bins.
