- Background
For 17 years in a row, Tzu Chi has provided semi-annual free medical services to serve our local communities to help those who are in need and also to promote preventive health care.
- Service Scope
Our medical services in this event will include flu shot, blood pressure check, blood sugar fingerstick test, general medicine, oriental medicine, dentistry, vision and chiropractics for the individuals and families around the bay area. Our clients most likely will be from local Chinese and Vietnamese communities.
- Recruitment Target (total 60 - 80)
Medical Professional and Dental Tech Support: (28-37)
MD/RNP: 2 Dr.
OMD/Acupuncturist: 2-3 Dr.
Chiropractor: 1-2 Dr.
Vision: 1-2 Dr.
Dental: 3-5 DDS, 1-2 RDH, 1-2 RDA and 6 or more TC DA to set up 7 dental units (3 on van; 4 portable)
Dental Tech Support 4-5: 2 X-ray operator, 2 portable unit tecnician and 1 dental van driver.
RN: 6-7 Nurses. (Flu shot support x2, Triage/Blood Pressure x2, Body Fat x1, Weight & Height x1)
Pharmacist: 1 Rx
Regular Volunteer: (32-43)
Registration 5-6 (Assign master number x1; Registration x 4-5)
Flow In/Out 9-11 (Reg to Triage or Flu Shot x2-3; Waiting Area to Main Hall x5-6; Waiting Area to Dental x2)
Controller 8-9 (Waiting area x2; MD x1, ODM x1-2; Chiropractics x1; Vision x1, Dental x2)
Record Return 1-2 (In charge of volunteer sign-in at the beginning)
Weight & Height 1-2 (Supervised by RN)
Spanish-English interpreter 2-3 (Front Desk x1; Main Hall x1; Dental x1)
Vietnamese-English interpreter 2-3 (Front Desk x1; Main Hall x1; Dental x1)
Mobility Support 2-3 (Meal set up, Water/Snack replenish, Dept circulation, Parking Control)
Tzu Chi Community Booth 1-2 (In charge of Tzu Chi booth and humanitarianism promotion)
Bone Barrow/Organ Donation/Community Partner Support 1-2 (needed by request only)
- Pre-Event Orientation is mandatory for non-medical professional volunteers.
